About
I hold a PhD in Applied Linguistics and Discourse Studies supervised between the School of Linguistics and Language Studies, the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, and the School of Indigenous and Canadian Studies at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario. While I’m enrolled in the Department of Linguistics and Language Studies, I also work within the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies as part of my own multidisciplinary work on place names and the connections between language and land. I am also extremely lucky to have an Indigenous Advisory Board overseeing my work into Indigenous place names.
This blog is intended to serve as part of my methodology in making these research findings as accessible as possible. If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to contact me at Rebekah (at) geolinguistics.ca or by using the Contact me form.
